St. Ignatius Loyola Academy is so grateful to Golfers’ Charitable Foundation for your most recent grant to support the Academy’s interscholastic athletic program for the 2022-23 school year. This grant supported the six interscholastic athletic teams at the Academy: baseball, basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, and wrestling. The 2022-23 school year was our most normal year of interscholastic sports since prior to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, which was exciting and beneficial to our students.

Since the Academy does not have the on-site facilities to host interscholastic practices, games, or meets (outside of wrestling) we must rent area facilities for all practices and games that are not hosted by another school. This grant supported area facility rentals for baseball, basketball, lacrosse, and soccer, and supported new equipment needed for all six Academy teams.
While an Academy education is primarily focused on academics, our program is also based on the centuries old Jesuit ideal of cura personalis, or care for the whole person. Our program aims to provide our students with a variety of opportunities they might not otherwise have. Interscholastic teams allow our students to stay healthy and active, learn leadership skills, figure out how to work together as a team, and create deeper bonds with their fellow students.
Thank you for your long-time support of Academy students! We hope to continue our partnership with Golfers’ Charitable Foundation.
